MAFTNM Alumni Achievement-Class of 2021-Muyu He

I am Muyu He, from the Class of 2021 of the MA in Communication program-- Film, TV & New Media Concentration (FTNM) , School of Culture and Creativity. During my study at UIC from 2021 to 2022, I was enlightened by the knowledge and meaningful thoughts shared by the professors and peers. After graduation, I have been working as a lecturer in a private college.

It was a challenge, but I truly enjoyed doing something so different, breaking through personal limits, and exploring diverse paths in life. It's not always easy; I needed to find a balance between my dreams and realism. As the old saying goes: "The mind, sharp but not broad, sticks at every point but does not move." So, when it comes to ideals, I explored a way to understand them clearly. I believe that human effort is the decisive factor.

To impart knowledge and educate others is the solemn mission of teachers, a responsibility that demands dedicated efforts from each educator. Structure and responsibility are paramount. At UIC, I received an excellent education, and now I wish to transfer this energy to others, helping more people find joy in learning. In its storied tradition, UIC has offered high-caliber instruction and uniquely valuable experiences to the students. I will never take this kindness for granted and will consistently let my conscience be my guide.

Finally, I want to say that wherever you are, and whoever you may be, there is one thing in which you and I are alike at this moment, and throughout all our moments: we are not at rest; we are on a journey.

I hope all preparations go smoothly, and that everyone showcases their abilities to the world. Let us seize opportunities and greet challenges with a big smile. I wish you all well. Let's raise a toast to the old times.
