(Project Outcomes from CTV1013 Introduction to Media Aesthetics & TAP 1003 Classic Dramatic Literature)
“In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes(2 minutes)." (Andy Warhol, 1968)
Dear Colleagues and Students,
Seasonal Greetings!
You are cordially invited to MADmedia Showcases 2022 cum Mediated Performance:
T5-104 Lecture Theatre
3-4pm 14 December 2022 (Wed)
Opening Reception: 3pm 14 December 2022 (with light refreshment)
The Showcases will be well represented the creative outcomes from the MAD year 2 students of CTV1013 Introduction to Media Aesthetics in UICSCCMAD. The students explore various kinds of media arts and visual representations, for instance digital video and animation, stop-motion animation, cartoon, video-collage, or any kind of digital mix-media to create “2 Minutes Media Art for Fame” (Warhol, 1968). The imageries employed are well illustrated in parallel with their study in media arts and design (MAD), for examples Expressionism, Surrealism, Feminism, and Modernism to Post-modernism etc. The students also adopt different approaches, such as psychological approach, social approach, or visual approach. By emerging different kinds of media materials/ skills/ aesthetics, finally their work of art can be self-expressed, self-represented, self-explained, and self-evaluative through a higher level of critical and creative thinking process.
Besides, “TAP 1003 Classic Dramatic Literature” project consists of: Research Report & Mediated Performance presentation that initiates a process of research & analysis on dramatic style, and then create a stylish performance in a format of Mediated Performance Outcome (ie, Video/ Video-collage/ Animation etc.). During the process, the students have to work out creative solutions to the problems/ issues identified from the research/ data collection/ ideas development in aspects of drama and performance. Finally they evaluate the feasibility of any solutions in the light of lectures, or in-class exercises and take a balanced approach to theatre aesthetics, conceptual and technical manifestation in the final stage as a write-act-document-mediated performance.
The Showcases are presented and organized by UIC/SCC/DCCD & DFTN/MAD & CTV.
We are looking forward to your coming.
Best Regards,
School of Culture and Creativity
