On 5 December 2025, the Second Working Meeting of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Alliance for Music Education and Arts Development was held at Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou. Representatives from universities, professional arts organizations, and related institutions across the Greater Bay Area attended the meeting.
As a member institution of the Alliance, the Department of Music, School of Culture and Creativity, Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), participated in the meeting. Discussions focused on regional collaboration, innovative integration, and the high-quality development of music education, with particular attention to how music education can better serve regional cultural development and talent cultivation in the context of the Greater Bay Area.
The Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Alliance for Music Education and Arts Development is committed to promoting resource sharing and collaborative development in music education across the region. By building platforms that connect universities, arts organizations, and social institutions, the Alliance encourages integration across teaching, artistic creation, research, and community engagement. Through regular working meetings and thematic seminars, the Alliance continues to strengthen communication and cooperation among member institutions and to explore collaborative pathways for music education and artistic practice within the Greater Bay Area.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the Alliance’s working mechanisms, regional resource integration, and future directions for collaboration. Discussions further examined the role of music education in regional cultural development and the cultivation of artistic talent.
In the subsequent thematic seminar session, Associate Professor Jie Wang, Associate Head of the Music Department, School of Culture and Creativity, Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University, was invited to deliver a thematic presentation. Drawing on practical experience in higher music education, she shared insights and reflections on cross-regional collaboration, teaching practice, and the integration of music education with artistic development. Her presentation provided valuable reference points for member institutions and contributed to deeper mutual understanding among participating universities and organizations.
The meeting laid a solid foundation for the next stage of work of the Alliance. Moving forward, the Department of Music at BNBU will continue to engage actively with the Alliance platform, participate in regional exchange and collaboration, and promote the integrated development of music education and artistic practice on a broader scale, contributing to cultural development and talent cultivation in the Greater Bay Area.
