On September 24, 2024, Dr. Iceman LEUNG and Ms. Eve WANG guided Year 3 students from Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management Programme (THEM) on a field trip to By-Health’s Transparent Factory and Nutrition Exploratorium in Zhuhai, as a component of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism course.
At the Transparent Factory, students began by tasting By-Health's nutritional products. Then, guided by the staff, they dressed in dust-free suits, head covers, and shoe covers, getting inside to the factory for a tour. They had the opportunity to witness the production line in operation, which enriched their understanding of the complete manufacturing process, from raw materials to the final products.
In the Nutrition Exploratorium, students engaged in a series of experiential interactive activities, including health screenings, nutrition education, and recreational sharing. The stunning visual and sensory experiences were as if they had traveled through time and space, feeling the pulse of life, thereby achieving a more comprehensive understanding of their own bodies.
During the visit, the students actively asked questions and fully participated in all the activities. They expressed their enthusiasm for this field trip, stating that the experience had enriched their understanding with invaluable insights into nutritional science.
This field trip aimed to broaden students' understanding of real-world cultural examples beyond the classroom through on-site visits. The THEM programme will continue to integrating diverse field trips and practical activities in its future curriculum, offering students more learning opportunities and hands-on experiences.
