To help students deeply understand the organizational process and technical support system of large-scale events, Associate Professor Dr. Purrie Pui-Yee NG and Assistant Instructor Ms. Yao XIAO from Culture, Creativity and Management (CCM) Programme, held a lecture for the course "Event Planning and Management" to explain the event planning experience at University Hall on October 18th. They invited Mr. Tom WU, who is working at the Estates Management Office (EMO), as the guest speaker to explain his experience to students.
Mr. Tom WU, who has been engaged in the technical work of event planning in BNBU for nearly 20 years, systematically explained the aspects of event technology, such as sound and lighting control systems. He pointed out that a successful event not only depends on creative ideas and program content, but also on rigorous technical support and teamwork. "Even handing a microphone will affect the overall performance, " he said.

He introduced the existing main event venues of BNBU, including the university hall, the performing arts hall, and the multi-function hall for high-table dinners. Mr. Tom WU mentioned these venues are equipped with the advanced sound system, LED display screen, stage lifting equipment, and the simultaneous interpretation system, which can meet the demand of different types of activities.

In the experience-sharing session, Mr. Tom WU reviewed many large-scale activities he participated in, such as the Zhuhai Air Show Forum, the 20th Anniversary of BNBU, Graduation Ceremony, and high-table dinners. He said both campus activities and social programs require team members to have a sense of responsibility and professionalism to ensure the smooth progress of each link.
Mr. Tom WU also encouraged students to cherish learning opportunities and dare to explore and practice. He hopes students can accumulate experience in the planning and implementation of activities, improve their professional ability, and find their professional interest and sense of accomplishment.
