The Baietan GBA Art Center is a cultural and artistic venue, integrating Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and Guangdong Literature Museum. The total exhibition area reaches 40,000 square meters, with the concepts of “Cultural Giant Ship, Time Archway, E Tan Expressive Art, and Cloud and Mountain Art Realm”. It combines the characteristics of Lingnan style and the cultural charm of the Greater Bay Area. Currently, Guangdong Museum of Art was holding the Contemporary Art Exhibition of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including the Assistant Professor Dr. Andy Tam of School of Culture and Creativity (SCC) having his artworks Calligraphy On Follow-The-Flow presented.

Students felt free to visit the exhibitions by themselves. During this process, students had deep discussions with teachers from CCM about the collection layout and the curating concept. For instance, they discussed how the application of digital technology would enhance the visitors’ experience and their comprehensions of the exhibition, as well as the impact of the lighting in the exhibition when displaying the artworks. These communications helped students turn their previously vague professional perceptions into a clear outline.

Through this learning experience, the Year-1 students strengthened their understanding of the cultural and creative industry, experienced the unique concepts from young painters and curators, and triggered thoughts on the narrative logic of the compatibility of the exhibition content.
