The Showcase will present the creative outcomes from the students of CTV1013 Introduction to Media Aesthetics and MAD3003 Photography in MAD. The students explore various forms of media art and their representations, such as digital video, stop-motion animation, cartoon, video-collage, and other kinds of digital mixed media to create “2 Minutes Media Art for Fame” (Warhol, 1968). The MAD3003 Photography course seeks to develop the keen understanding needed to read and interpret photographic images, providing students with an in-depth overview of both the history and contemporary practice of photography in the New Era of AI.
In general, the digital and photographic imagery employed is presented in parallel with their studies in Media Arts and Design (MAD). The students also adopt different approaches, such as psychological, socio-cultural, or visual approaches. By merging different kinds of media materials, skills, and aesthetics, their final artwork achieves a higher level of media communication and creative thinking, becoming self-expressive, self-representational, self-explanatory, and self-evaluative.
Warm Regards,
School of Culture and Creativity (SCC)
