A delegation from the Hertford College of the University of Oxford in the UK paid a visit to UIC on 14 November and met with students to give information about their 2019 summer programme.

Caroline Rice, one of the representatives, provided general information about Hertford College. She also noted some of their special events, such as the Gala dinner and the welcome tea, which students would enjoy after they have their study tour at Hertford College. She said the Gala dinner is for students to celebrate their success in the whole learning process.

In the course, students need to learn a lot of things. They need to know creative writing and the process of making a film, while the teachers, or we might call them tutors, will provide more chances for students to make their own discoveries. Andrew Hemingway, another member of the IP Team, explained the courses and content that students would learn during their study visit at Hertford College.

Also, Mr Hemingway gave some advice to students applying to overseas graduate schools for Masters degrees. He highlighted the significance of academic English writing for Chinese students, as well as the quality of their personal statements. Finally, he encouraged students to have their own visions of the future to a creative and critical thinking of the world.
