On the afternoon of December 11, 2024, the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management Programme of the Department of Culture, Creativity and Design at UIC and InterContinental Zhuhai jointly signed a school-enterprise cooperation base agreement at CC302. The signing was led by Assistant Professor Ho-kai CHAN and represented by Dr. Yuan Yuan, the Acting Department Head of DCCD.

Following the signing ceremony, Ms. Willow Wu, HR Director of InterContinental Zhuhai, delivered an enlightening lecture on " International Hotel Human Resources Operations and Interview Skills" for the teachers and students present. Drawing from her vast HR experience, Director Wu detailed the hotel's brand history, facilities, organizational structure, and HR operations. She also addressed key student concerns like professional development, salary benefits, and employee activities.

During her speech, Ms. Wu emphasized InterContinental Hotels Group's focus on talent and its high standards in selection and training. She shared key interview skills including resume preparation, art of communication and showcasing personal strengths; providing practical advice and guidance for students about to enter the workforce.

After her speech, an interactive Q&A session ensued, with students posing their queries successively. Ms. Wu responded with patience and professionalism to each question. Besides, InterContinental Zhuhai had thoughtfully prepared exquisite gifts as a token of appreciation and encouragement for both teachers and students.

This academic-industry collaboration not only enlightens students about international hotel management but also fosters a platform for cultivating top-tier hospitality talents. DCCD anticipates jointly cultivating industry leaders with InterContinental Zhuhai in future endeavors.
