Abstract of the talk
Musical technical skills is the foundation for interpreting and performing all types of compositions from the Middle Ages to the present day. Having these skills would help you to elaborate the quality of your performance in three aspects: 1. sight-reading ability 2. sufficient and efficient practice 3. aural skills development. All instruments would require various playing skills through the musical training. The basis of these techniques would assist you to prepare audition, practice well and perform better in public.
About the speaker
Dr Kris Ho is currently associate professor of music at UIC. Kris studied at The University of Tasmania, and The Australian National University in Australia, specialising in violin performance, violin pedagogue and technology related performance. Her research focus is based on George Crumb, minimalism, experimentalism, and music technology.
