You are cordially invited to the following lecture organized by the Media Arts and Design Programme (MAD), School of Culture and Creativity (SCC).
Title: Making the Invisible Visible: Media art and interaction designs in augmented reality and projection mapping
Speaker: Dr. Hannah Kum
Time: 2:00-3:30 p.m., 10 January 2025 (Friday)
Venue: CC-207
Language: English
Abstract:
Augmented reality allows the designer to integrate the virtual world with the physical world. For example, it allows the creative designer to make invisible elements visible to a person moving in a room, street, or other space. I demonstrate some interaction design projects that use augmented reality to make invisible natural forces visible, make molecules that can be touched and manipulated, allow users to interact with the life-size artists in front of their paintings in a museum, or to walk through streets seeing the history of the city in 3D. I also review professional interactive designs for Google, Samsung, HP, and others. Finally, I demonstrate how students transition from design projects to professions at Meta, Sony, and other companies.
