Entering the post-pandemic era, things beyond virus itself start to plague people's lives. For the frst time, ordinary things I once owned are threatened or have been taken away already by politicization of the virus. From the most basic life and health, to the freedom and joy of travel, to the peace, unity and prosperity of the whole country and the whole world…… The reality of where we are somehow becomes dramatic and absurd. In the 1970s and 1990s, there was a pseudo-science wave in China. Some people cloaked themselves in the guise of promoting traditional culture and establishing a world-leading "new system of science" to make proft. "Injecting chicken blood", "black tea fungus", "qigong fever"...... Driven by interest and the need for development after Cultural Revolution, it had even gained standing in political and scientifc circles. Through publication and video installation, "Positive Sanatorium" attempts to create a space that mixes the two eras, in order to convey the worrisome commonality between reality and history, and raise the awareness and refection on the reality.
