Generation, Discrimination, Lacanian Gaze is Xiangqing GUAN’s frst refection and attempts to dabble in the machine learning feld. Generative adversarial networks (GAN) can generate vague images through an adversarial cycle of generation and self-judgment without human intervention, which is a way free from the dominance of se miotics. The Interactors will experience the erratic gaze from the machine-generated images, thus refecting on the lack of symbolic order in the context of Jacques Lacan’s psychoanalysis.
