The virtual idol variety show is a diversified art show taking virtual idols as main contestants to display talents, communicate and interact with others. The form of art show combines the virtuality of virtual idol and the strong interactivity of variety show. This idea can be an attempt at a deep integration of different dimensional cultures. Through deep interviews with the audiences and case study with the observation of reflection of the show on social platforms, this research takes Dimension Nova, the first virtual idol variety show in China, as an example to discuss and analyze the effect brought by virtual idols in variety shows on the spread and the mass impression of two-dimensional culture.
