Meet a Minute

This is an installation about time. The whole installation is regarded as two parts-the internal "minute hand dial" which represents objective time rotates automatically &the external "analog second hand" which represents the subjective time rotates by participants. For the internal part, we can regard the entire dial as 1 hour &each division is 1 minute. The rotation speed of the dial is consistent with the minute hand, so this part can be regarded as objective time. For the external part, participants control the rotation of the"analog second hand" and simulate the second hand. Taking one circle as a unit, participants estimate 1 minute and mark on the dial with the sand at the start &the end of the minute, so that it is very direct to see whether the participant's subjective time is consistent with the objective time. In addition, participants can choose different colors for marking, so every unique mark of "1 minute" will be left on it. What's more, participants can also take away the bottles they have used as a "1-minute" memory on the installation.
