A museum is not only responsible for exhibitions, collections and researches, but also playing an important role in public education, aims at popularizing art to the masses. This research explores the art education in museums and galleries, taking Guangdong Museum and Shanghai Museum as examples. The content includes general situation of art education, literature related to public education in museums, coupled with importance of the study and research questions. The research methods include case study, interview in terms of selected museums' measures, exhibitions, resources, cooperation and projects. The analysis clarified the similarities, differences and existing problems, and put forward feasible suggestions.
