This paper takes dreams in surrealist paintings as the object of study, and explores the forms and meanings of dreaming in surrealist paintings through relevant theoretical research and analysis of works. The fifirst part brieflfly introduces the relevant defifinitions and concepts. The second chapter discusses the dream state in the paintings of Dali, Magritte and Miró, the representative painters of Surrealism, and presents a case study of the dream state in the Surrealist paintings of contemporary Chinese and foreign artists, in order to analyze the presentation form of the dream state in Surrealist paintings and further argue the relationship between dream state and painting from itself. Finally, the signifificance of the creation of dreams in surrealist paintings is summarized, and its unique artistic connotation and aesthetic value are explored from a multidimensional perspective. This paper also elaborates and shares the author's perception of dream atmosphere creation and creation in the practice of surrealist painting creation from the perspective of combining theory and practice. Through research and practice, I further improve my professionalism.
