The artwork ‘GRANNY’ is a poignant tribute to my late grandmother, who passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a meticulous combination of various materials and elements, it vividly portrays aspects of life and cultural traditions prevalent in rural families of Hunan, China. This installation captures the essence of 1990s rural Chinese households and the nuanced feminine sphere, inviting contemplation on the underlying reflections and explorations of family, affection, and tradition.
