On September 22, 2023, The School of Culture and Creativity at Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University - United International College (UIC) had the distinct honor of hosting Associate Professor Yin Yijia from the Central Conservatory of Music. She conducted a splendid piano masterclass and was appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Music Department during the award ceremony.
Ms. Yin Yijia, currently serving as an Associate Professor and Master's Thesis Advisor at the Central Conservatory of Music. She serves as the Artistic Advisor for the Central European International Cultural and Arts Festival and has been appointed as a Promotional Ambassador for G. Henle Verlag, a renowned German music publishing company. Her dedication to promoting cross-cultural musical exchange has earned her accolades and recognition in the global music community.
At the adjunct professor award ceremony, UIC President Tang Tao personally presented the adjunct professorship to Ms. Yin Yijia, representing the college's warm welcome and gratitude. This significant ceremony witnessed Ms. Yin Yijia becoming part of the UIC Culture and Creativity School- Music Department, where she will have a chance to contribute her rich experience and talents to the academic and artistic endeavors of the college.
Following the ceremony, Ms. Yin Yijia delivered a captivating piano masterclass, providing valuable one-on-one guidance to four fortunate students. Jessica XIE Peizhen, Sukki MENG Jingwen, Hedy HE Qining, and Una XIE Jinzhi, all received expert instruction from Ms. Yin Yijia and greatly benefited from her insights. During the masterclass, Ms. Yin Yijia showcased her expertise by performing and instructing on the following pieces:
1.Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) - Piano Sonata No. 5 in C minor, Op. 10, No. 1, First Movement
2.Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943) - Étude-Tableaux in D minor, Op. 33, No. 5(4)
3.Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) - Piano Sonata No. 21 in C major, Op. 53, First Movement
4.Claude Debussy (1862-1918) - Feux d’artifices (No. 12 from Préludes, Livre 2)
Ms. Yin Yijia's teaching marked a significant milestone for students at the UIC School of Culture and Creativity’s Music Department. From her teaching, students made new strides and progress in their music training and creativity. This piano masterclass not only provided students with a rare learning opportunity but also enriched our campus cultural life.
The success of this event was made possible through Ms. Yin Yijia's dedicated guidance and support, and we extend our gratitude to all participants who helped bring this event to fruition. This allowed students at the UIC Culture and Creativity School-Music Department to have the opportunity for close interaction with such an outstanding musician and further their musical journeys.
