On the afternoon of March 15, 2022, Dr. Eliver Lin, programme director of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management, led the students of the major required course "Fundamentals of Tourism and Hospitality Management" to go to Hi-City for a field trip. This is the first collaboration between the programme and the industry partner which provided a chance for the students to learn tourism business practices from Hi-City, Huafa Properties.

“Hi-City” is designed as a boat-shaped building, which is located by the bank of Wild Tiger Island with a beautiful environment. It is a cultural tourism commercial real estate project supporting Zhuhai Grand Theatre, and it is a new landmark of cultural tourism in Zhuhai.

Under the guidance of Mr. Huang, Director of Business Development of Hi-City, the students visited facilities in Hi-City, such as Zhuhai Tourism Information Consulting Center, Shusheng Bookstore and other cultural and creative centers.

Mr. Huang from Hi-City and Ms. Huang, the Store Manager of Shusheng Bookstore, gave guest speeches to our students. We then presented Professor for A Day certificates and our sincerest appreciation to Mr. Huang and Ms. Huang.

This field trip also provided the student with an opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge to solve the real-life issues that are faced by the industry partner.  The solutions generated by the students will be shared with the industry partner, which created a bridge between education and application.
