Recently, the preliminary round of the “2024 Zhuhai-Macao-Hengqin Vocational Skills cum 'In-depth Cooperation Cup' Hospitality Competitions” concluded on September 22nd at 12:00. The judging panel evaluated the participants' video submissions on September 24th. Lefeng CHEN, a 2022 student from the Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management Programme at UIC, successfully advanced to the semifinals in the Zhuhai-Hengqin student competition track.

Hosted jointly by relevant units in Zhuhai, Macao, and Hengqin, this competition is a regional event vigorously promoted by the three governments. The competition stages include a new media presentation in the preliminary round, a theoretical examination in the semifinals, and an on-site demonstration in the finals. In the preliminary round, Lefeng CHEN created a three-minute hospitality scenario video in Chinese, effectively demonstrating his professional skills such as etiquette, demeanor, and oral communication, as well as his familiarity with the local hotel and cultural tourism scene. In the semifinals, he is set to tackle the challenge of a written theoretical examination.

Our university is confident in Chen Lefeng's excellent performance in the upcoming rounds of the competition. We look forward to him achieving outstanding results in the finals, bringing honor to the UIC and the School of Culture and Creativity.
