"Zhuhai City Robinson" - A Journey of Exchange and Cooperation for Zhuhai-Macao Youth

Marking the 25th anniversary of Macao's return, the Zhuhai-Macao sports exchange series celebrated a new achievement with the launch of the 11th Zhuhai City Robinson Fun Orienteering Race on November 2, 2024. This event, fostering sports and tourism engagement, aimed to stimulate the collaborative evolution of culture, sports, and tourism between Zhuhai and Macao.



Attracting over 1,000 participants, the event was a dynamic blend of more than 600 competitors and around 300 volunteers, performers, staff, and guests, with an additional 100 spectators adding to the energy of the opening ceremony. This event served as a catalyst for cultural and sports exchanges within the Greater Bay Area, with participants from Zhuhai, Macao, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou adding to the rich tapestry of interaction.


The event sparked considerable excitement among various universities in Zhuhai and Macao. The Department of Culture, Creativity and Design from Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College, a co-organizer of the event, placed significant emphasis on this collaborative endeavor. Six enthusiastic volunteers from the Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management Programme - Du Ziyan, Zhou Linran, Shi Ruofan, Lin Yincheng, Luo Yinghang, and Wang Runmo, diligently collaborated with the School of Tourism of Sun Yat-sen University. They established a promotional booth at the UIC Hui Xian Village Square, aiming to amplify the reach of the current event and engage a larger student population from the campus.Dr. Zhang also graced the opening ceremony with a heartfelt congratulatory speech.




The event cleverly combined sightseeing, cultural experiences, and team cooperation, allowing participants to compete across the city, accomplish engaging tasks, and immerse themselves in Zhuhai's cultural richness in an eco-friendly way, all while experiencing the appeal and enjoyment of national fitness activities.





This collaborative event not only boosted university interactions but also offered a platform for students from Zhuhai and Macao to display their innovative thinking and teamwork skills. It witnessed a fresh attempt by universities in Zhuhai and Macao to explore novel talent training models, while providing a platform for the youth of both regions to deepen understanding and foster cooperation.
