I have many wonderful memories in CCM. As a broad subject, CCM has broadened our horizon and created many possibilities for us in our courses. Every teacher and professor in CCM has provided me with help in my study direction and application. As you can see, my application for studying abroad covers many different fields, and these overseas universities also believe that I have enough ability and foundation to further my study in these fields as a CCMer.

Postgraduate study application needs to be carried out as early as possible, planning your arrangements in advance, winter and summer vacation should be used effectively. According to my experience, in the application: GPA > IELTS > internship, summer courses or competition > international volunteer and other background enhancement projects. If there are any CCM students who want to consult me about their postgraduate study application, please feel free to contact me.

Making choice is as important as the working hard.

Before transferring my major, my major is EPIN (Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management). Then, I transferred my major to CCM (Culture, Creativity, and Management) in my junior year. The reason for me to change my major is that I have chosen a direction I like and want to strive for -- fashion management. And now, I am lucky enough to receive great graduate offers from some universities and their majors of fashion management enjoy a great reputation among the world. The course arrangement of UIC provides the convenience for all students to change majors to a certain extent, whether they change majors from the same division or across the divisions. Because each of us has some similar general courses in the curriculum.

I want to share three things about myself.

1. Selection of elective courses: After my major transfer, I also chose some major elective courses to assist my graduate application. For example, I chose Fundraising for Arts and Culture in the second semester of my junior year and Concepts in Spatial Design in my senior year.

2. Abundant off-campus practice: In addition to academic experience in school, off-campus experience is also important. For example, I worked as an intern in the Marketing Department of Louis Vuitton last summer vacation and got the Award of Excellence in the 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Cultural Creative Design Competition in my junior year.

3. Maintaining mental condition: In addition to the above two points, maintaining a good mental condition is also essential to me. A good mental condition is not only important for our physical health but also can keep us more efficient in study and work.

Finally, I hope everyone's studies and life can be as right as rain.

Offer: Master of Arts (Arts and Cultural Entrepreneurship), National University of Singapore

During the college entrance examination, in the eyes of the head teacher, I just a low-grade student. Even when I wanted to apply for UIC, he persuaded me to withdraw on the grounds that "I once had an excellent student who failed to pass the exam". Now, I have received a postgraduate offer from the National University of Singapore. I want to thank UIC and CCM for everything it has given me in the past four years. At first, I was admitted to UIC by Comprehensive Evaluation Admission (CEA) Examination. After entering UIC, the education mode of comprehensive development and training also affects my study progress. For example, in the major course "Concepts of Contemporary Arts in Cultural Industries ", we have a lot of small assignments, which gave me a lot of opportunities to practice while learning, and also reduce our pressure to the final exam. In the major elective course "Cultural Heritage and Tourism", the teacher would carefully correct my personal homework and give us detailed suggestions to help us improve our group project. The group work of different major courses also gives me better teamwork and communication skills. In the course of "Event Planning and Management", we need to complete a small theme activity independently from the aspects of planning, implementation and reflection. CCM courses are easier than other courses in some areas, but they give us more opportunities to practice and learn in all aspects. The diversified curriculum and learning mode give me more chances to show myself, and also allow me to go further on the road of lifelong learning. It's not easy for me to complete the course and obtain the desired admission notice within two years since I transferred my programme in Year 3. Thanks for all CCM teachers and the help from DCC administration office. I hope I can never forget why I started,  always be grateful and keep learning in the future.

The 4 years of studying in UIC CCM are the period of my fastest growth. I think apart from the continuous intrinsic motivation, such self-development cannot be separated from the open and inclusive atmosphere of our major. Studying in CCM, there is no paradigm. Everyone are encouraged to develop different expertise for different career orientation. In such a tolerant atmosphere, we are more willing to express ourselves in a creative way. Teachers in CCM also supported us to give full play to our strength, so I am really grateful to them. I also believe that, in the future, all the CCMers will shine in different fields, in our creative ways!

1. How has UIC made a difference to you?

My four years at UIC had really changed me a lot, both in terms of my studies and my daily life, and I am a much different person than I was four years ago.

UIC has helped me realize the importance of living a productive and meaningful life. Procrastination has always been one of the most significant illnesses of modern young people, and when I was in the junior years, I was also a heavy procrastinator. I was very uncomfortable when I experienced various deadlines and group discussions, as my professors, classmates, and the teaching system were like a relentless whip driving me forward. At first, I felt tired, and I felt that the study and life at that time was far from what I thought I would be doing in college. But after one semester, I basically adapted to this state of keeping moving forward, and although I felt hard in the process, at the end of each semester, I felt a sense of accomplishment and I appreciated my efforts and self-discipline. At UIC, I experienced a productive learning and living experience that has enriched me and given new meaning and direction to my life.

UIC has kept me active and motivated and has taught me what it means to work hard. I believe that many people have certain stereotypes about UIC, such as "rich kid" and "aristocratic school". As an experienced student at UIC, I will be responsible for telling people who have such a perception that this is not the case.

UIC has given me a deeper experience of cultural intermingling. As an international institution, I have experienced classes prepared by professors from all over the world, and I have experienced the culture, customs, and accents of different countries, which has been a very meaningful and interesting experience for me. The university itself is also very focused on international cultural exchange and integration, and we have a very rich cultural community and cultural activities, and I have participated in many such activities in the past four years, each time deepening my understanding of diverse cultures and deepening my curiosity for the world. UIC also attaches great importance to the education and development of Chinese traditional culture, and provides students with many opportunities to engage with traditional culture both in and out of the classroom.

2. What do you think is the unique competitiveness that UIC brings to you compared to those who studied at traditional 985/211 universities in China?

For me, UIC has enhanced my personal skills and independence of mind. In terms of studies, UIC's curriculum requires students to be able to think independently and complete projects independently. Whether it is an individual project or a group project, independence is a very important skill. In the process of learning, we get a lot of ideas, trials and errors, and we can get careful guidance and effective feedback from professors.

The teaching at UIC has been effective in improving students' language skills; UIC is an all-English college and students' English skills are generally strong, and I think my speaking and writing skills have been improved during my four years at UIC. Not only my English skills, but also my Chinese expression skills have been well trained. This is a very competitive advantage.

UIC's unique teaching model provides students with abundant educational resources and opportunities. With the help of group projects, students' leadership and teamwork skills are well-trained, which may be less noticed and concentrated in other domestic universities. After four years of refinement, we are comfortable with how to move projects forward, improve team efficiency, and lead groups to complete projects.

Finally, I believe that UIC has developed students' time management skills. Efficiency is very important in study, work and life. Students are more disciplined and efficient in both life and study.

3. Tell us about your major.

CCM is a broad and all-encompassing program in which students try to see, understand, and manage the art world through a commercial lens. Our program incorporates a number of courses related to the cultural industry as well as the basic courses of business management.

CCM is a combination of interesting and powerful. CCM focuses on learning by doing, providing students with real and immersive experiences through projects and field trips, gaining experience in practice and having fun. CCM is a factory of ideas. In the past four years, we have done countless business planning and business case studies; we have created our own brands and customized marketing and branding plans for them; we have planned and organized our own world events. We have planned CCM annual exhibition; we have designed novel products, art installations, showrooms; we have also planned unique travel activities, we have tried too much, each new attempt always brings us more new ideas and understanding, let me know creativity, love creativity, and enjoy creativity.

CCM follows the practicality first, making you four years into a universal all-in-one machine. After four years of study, I have gained a lot of knowledge and skills in this major. We learned a lot of supporting skills, basic computer skills, poster design, PS, AI, 3D modeling, SPSS data analysis and other tools we have access to, all of which are very practical skills. After four years of study, whether it's planning, copywriting, design, editing, CCMer can use it with ease.

CCM is a gathering place for interesting souls. The professors are knowledgeable and experienced, always willing to take the time to be a listener and offer valuable advice when you are in trouble or feel lost. Overall, thank you, CCM, for four years of such a valuable and memorable experience.

I'm Sirui Su, from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, and my high school is in Lanzhou No. 1 High School.

One of the most impressive things about my time at CCM is that in my year 2, we took an Event Planning class, which was our major required course. We were asked to create an exhibition to demonstrate our creativity and practical skills with a limited budget. This was a challenging task for me and my peers because we had never done this before. The success of this exhibition encouraged me to reach my goals on my own, to keep trying new things, and to be good at using my abilities to meet challenges. In that summer to my junior year, I went to a curatorial company in Lanzhou for an internship, mainly doing content writing, and scenography. I learned a lot of curatorial and design skills from some seniors, as well as making simple models with computers.

I have a general direction for my future development. I have always been interested in culture since I was a kid, especially Chinese culture. During my four years in college, I went to many places, both foreign and domestic, and I visited the biggest museums and places where folklore and folkways could be represented. When I went on exchange to the United States in 2019, I often shared Chinese culture with my friends at international student exchange meetings. My love for Chinese culture is one of the most important directions I want to pursue in the future, but in this digital age, my love alone is not enough because I have to keep up with the mainstream of the times, otherwise I will be left behind. In the future, I will integrate Chinese culture into contemporary trends through business practices, so that I can spread Chinese culture on an international platform. It's a tough but worthwhile work.

After Master course, I work on the operation of a science and technology industry association in Macau. I am Minying CHEN who graduated from Dongguan High School Songshan Lake School, and I entered UIC with a score of 599 in the university entrance exam. As my first choice, the Culture, Creativity and Management programme is dedicated to train students to master the comprehensive knowledge of cultural industries management and the added value of cultural products. Through my tireless efforts and the support of my family, as well as the platform of UIC, I was honored to receive the second-class scholarship as well as the UIC entry scholarship.

UIC upholds an innovative approach to promote liberal arts education by incorporating Chinese and Western cultural resources. First of all, the all-English teaching environment at UIC has helped me to make a leap in my English language skills. Compared with many universities in China, UIC has a relatively heavy workload and the competition is quite fierce. As a university that combines East and West, UIC has established partnerships with many foreign universities. I was fortunate to be able to study in Germany as an exchange student for a semester in my junior year and traveled to more than ten countries in Europe, broadening my horizons and developing my independence. Many people think that going to a foreign country to study is just a gold plating to come back and look different, but I think the biggest meaning of going to a foreign country for exchange is to bring Chinese culture to the world and let the world see the growth and transformation of China.

UIC promotes a holistic education that combines international characteristics with local culture, which means a balanced development of moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic qualities. During these four years, while maintaining a good and improving academic performance, I also participated in some clubs such as the Student Union to practice social skills, and some whole-person education courses such as experiential development, emotional intelligence, environmental awareness and art painting classes to learn through experience and practice. As a college student, it is also important to have a sense of responsibility to the community, to be grateful and to give back to the community. I have also participated in volunteer activities such as caring for injured elephants at an elephant camp in Thailand, releasing sea turtles on the beach in Indonesia, and helping a non-profit organization in Ghana, Africa, design project promotion posters at the United Nations Volunteers. I learned to appreciate life from them, our lives are already so comfortable and happy, so what's the reason to complain?

In addition to my studies, UIC's four-dimensional education also provides a lot of internship opportunities. I took part in internships at Prudential Group and China Everbright Bank during the holidays to apply what I learned to my daily work.

When I entered UIC I set myself three goals, to get the highest score once, to get a scholarship once and to be an exchange student once. Looking back on my four years, I have achieved all of them. I am grateful to my family for always motivating and inspiring me, and to the university for giving me these opportunities to become good person, and I hope that you will be too in the future.

Studied at the University of Manchester, majoring in Art Gallery and Museum Studies

By four years of study in UIC, I have paved a solid foundation for my graduate studies in the UK, as well as many skills, such as teamwork, independent study, English academic writing and public speaking skills. I was especially glad that I chose CCM as my major, because the compulsory and elective courses were both business management related and cultural industry related, so I could gradually learn about various fields and concepts. I learned Art Gallery and Museum Studies at the University of Manchester, and many of the students in my class had a background in humanities or art, so I was happy to be able to apply what I learned at UIC.

In addition, my personality has changed a lot during my four years at UIC. I have been surrounded by students from all over the country and exchange students from other countries with different backgrounds and communication styles, so I have become more outgoing in making friends.
