For better integration of the theoretical knowledge of “Introduction to Hospitality Management” course and the practical experience, under the planning and organization of the course instructor Ms. KK Wanqi WAN and led by Dr. Xi WANG, the 30 students from the course took a field trip to Renaissance Zhuhai Hotel on the afternoon of Nov. 23th, 2023.

Renaissance Zhuhai Hotel has more than 300 guest rooms. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic view in the rooms, guests could enjoy the riverside view of Qianshan area, as well as the New Lisboa and Macao Tower - the landmarks of Macau. The design inspiration of hotel is traceable to the love story of “Zhuhai Fishing Girls”, and the entire hotel’s design is based on ocean elements. Especially, the design of its restaurant creates the atmosphere of “Fishery Harvesting”, which adheres to the purpose of “Replying on ‘ocean’ draft”. Renaissance also has the professional banquet planning team strives to bring a personalized experience of meeting, wedding, and etc.

During the visit, the hotel General Manager Mr. Josh CHO and Assistant Human Resource Manager Ms. Jennifer CHEN introduced about the industry development status as well as the enterprise’s origin and culture of Renaissance’s membership group-Marriott Corporation, which let students have the deeper and more specific understanding of Renaissance Zhuhai Hotel and its industry.

Under the guidance of the hotel staff, CCM students successively visited presidential suite, double standard room, conference center, constant temperature swimming pool, fitness center, children's playground, executive lounge, and the most characteristic bar-R Lounge, in order to experience the high-quality facilities and services from Renaissance Zhuhai Hotel.

At the end of the visit, the Assistant Human Resource Manager Ms. Jennifer CHEN provided the question and answer session for CCM students. Through the voice of experience from the hotel staff, students were answered the questions of the hotel industry and hotel management-related careers. Renaissance Zhuhai Hotel’s tour provided CCM students with the most direct way to understand the work in hotel industry. Meanwhile, it built a bridge for students to learn and apply to the industry.
